For the promotion of Indonesian Studies

About Us

The ANU Indonesian Studies was formed in 2011 to fill a gap that students saw within the student community at ANU.

The Aims of the Association are as follows

- To provide support by organising both academic and social programs for students of Indonesian Studies at ANU to allow members to create networks with like minded peers.

- To promote the study of Indonesia and encourage Australia-Indonesia relations both at the university and in the wider community.

- To encourage participation in the wider Indonesian community and contribute to the improvement of Indonesian society.

Structure

ANU Indonesian Studies Association can be considered as an umbrella overseeing four separate arms of the Association.

These arms include;

  • LEAP- Our Language Exchange Affiliate Program which runs regular language exchanges and offers students an opportunity to improve language skills and make new friends.
  • Outreach- This arm seeks to create Outreach programs both in the local community to promote Indonesian Studies and in Indonesia to give back to the community.
  • Social- Looking for something to do? How do events like movie nights, trivia, social mixers and cultural events sound? That’s what this arm handles so stay tuned for some great events coming up soon!
  • Liaison- The students are the future of Indonesian Studies in Australia which is why this arm is particularly important. This arm provides students with an outlet for students to voice their concerns with the university.
